We encourage our patients to order their repeat prescriptions through the NHS App. Please ask at reception if you need help registering for our online service.

If you cannot order your medication online, please tick the items required on the sheet attached to your last prescription then post it to us, hand it in at reception or email us at SOUCCG.elmlodge@nhs.net

We will send your prescription electronically to the pharmacy of your choice for collection.

48 hours (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) notice is required for the preparation of repeat prescriptions.

You may be able to save money on prescriptions by purchasing a prescription prepayment certificate.

Prescriptions cannot be ordered by telephone for reasons of safety.   

National Supply Disruption of ADHD Medication

The Department for Health and Social Care has notified us about a disruption to the supply of some medicines used to manage ADHD symptoms.  

The following medicines are affected:  

Methylphenidate

• Equasym XL® 10, 20, and 30mg  
• Xaggitin XL® 18 and 36mg  
• Concerta XL® 54mg  
• Xenidate XL® 27mg  

Lisdexamfetamine

• Elvanse® 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70mg  
• Elvanse® Adult 30, 50 and 70mg  

Guanfacine

• Intuniv® 1, 2, 3 and 4mg

If you have been prescribed any of these medicines, you should continue to take them as instructed. Please do not share medicines with anyone else.  

The disruption is caused by manufacturing issues and increased global demand. Currently, we expect the supply disruptions to be resolved by December 2023, although this may change. 

If you have concerns, please contact your psychiatrist.

General Practitioners are not allowed to change or start ADHD medication, this has to be done by a psychiatrist. This means that if pharmacies are unable to supply your normal ADHD medication it needs to be your psychiatrist who arranges an alternative medication.
